Laura Day, PMHNP-BC

Laura is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience in acute psychiatric nursing across the lifespan. Her background includes caring for children, adolescents, and adults in high-acuity psychiatric settings, as well as serving in supervisory and leadership roles.

In addition to her clinical work, Laura served as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), providing care to individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. This experience influenced her approach to mental health care, particularly when working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

After many years at the bedside, while raising her family, Laura advanced her practice to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and now provides outpatient psychiatric care at Modern Behavioral. She has a strong interest in a holistic approach to mental health and the ways emotional well-being connects to nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, and overall health. Her goal is to create an environment where clients feel welcome, safe, and supported in building strong mental health and overall well-being.

Outside of work, Laura is a busy mom who enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering in animal rescue.
