Spravato works differently from traditional antidepressants, targeting the brain’s glutamate system to help restore healthy neural activity. It may provide rapid relief—often within hours to days—especially for those who haven’t responded to other treatments. Studies have shown a rapid and superior reduction in depression symptoms at 4 weeks for more patients using Spravato in combination with an oral antidepressant compared with those who received placebo plus an oral antidepressant.
Because of its unique effects, Spravato is administered on-site under the supervision of our providers. Each session includes a period of observation to monitor for side effects such as dizziness, sedation, or dissociation.
